Croydon ARC's Workshops
Workshop Activities
Our workshops are managed by experienced engineers who are not only responsible for output quality but also supervise our trainees to a level where they become self-sufficient.
The workshop activities are split into 5 sections:
Washing Machines, Tumble Driers and Ovens
Fridge Freezers and Microwaves
Wooden Furniture
The activities in the wood repair shop can vary from simply replacing missing screws and fittings through to more major project. Every day in the furniture repair workshop brings a new challenge. The workshop is manned by volunteers.
Computer and IT Equipment
With computers we start by erasing all data and software which might have been left on the machine. This is done to an approved standard to give peace of mind and security to the people donating their computers.
The machines are then given any necessary hardware or software upgrades before being tested and put up for sale.
Small Electricals
We have a small workshop, manned by volunteers, to PAT* test all our small electrical items before being put up for sale. This ensures that they do not have any electrical faults.
