Work Experience Placements

WORK EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING.

Where are the work experience and training opportunities at ARC? - Everywhere!

Croydon ARC wants to encourage local people to become involved. Many volunteers have joined us, sometimes a little nervously, since we began. Many have developed their skills, and some are still with us today. And some are now working with us as part of the staff. All have had an interesting and rewarding experience.

We can help you in your personal development and employability. In particular, we would like to attract those that are generally disadvantaged in the job market or education.

What sort of opportunities does ARC provide?

We have a range of activities suitable for work experience placements in different areas of the organisation. These range from helping out in the office, in the showroom, on the vans, or in the warehouse, to helping the engineers refurbish appliances. The opportunities are flexible and diverse, giving you an opportunity to learn and employ a range of skills.

How will you help with my personal development?

We always try to provide the best possible experience for our work experience placements and trainees. Where possible we will provide you with accredited training either as the main part of your experience with us or to help you undertake any roles that you might take up on a voluntary basis.

Work Experience Scheme for disabled people.

People with disabilities are referred to ARC by their support agencies. Croydon Social Services will assess candidates for suitability, before they are placed at ARC. In the first instance, applicants should contact Mencap, Status or Job Centre Plus.
