About Croydon ARC
Sales

Our centre of operations is in Grafton Road, Croydon, where we have our workshops, warehouse and a large showroom. Our new shop in St Georges Walk, central Croydon, is our main sales centre. Here you can see our full range of washing machines, fridges, cookers as well as a large range of quality used furniture.
We welcome the general public, and also provide special terms for those receiving Income Support.
Workshops
We have one of the best-equipped domestic appliance repair workshops in the country, where our skilled engineers refurbish washing machines, fridges, cookers, microwaves, etc. to the highest standards. Here we make the most of the high number of excellent appliances that may otherwise have been scrapped, and return them to full working order. Each appliance is provided with a 6 months guarantee.
Donations
We rely on the generous donations of members of the public. We can arrange collection where required.
Commercial Services
We provide bulk waste and WEEE collection and recycling services to a broad range of organisations including schools, NHS Trusts, industrial and business clients and councils.
We are able to collect anything from individual items up to a full hotel clearance.
ARC provides the household white goods collection service for the London Boroughs of Croydon, Sutton, Kingston and Merton. From these collections we select the best to be refurbished in our workshops. Those not suitable for repair are recycled according to the current WEEE regulations. (WEEE = Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
Schools, colleges hospitals and industry use ARC collection and recycling services for disposal of their waste electrical equipment, as well as office furniture and household goods.
As an Authorised Treatment Facility, and a Designated Collection Facility approved by the Environment Agency, ARC can assure organisations using our services that all waste is treated correctly.
Training and Work Experience
Our objectives as a charity include "providing training and work opportunities for unemployed and disadvantaged people".
We work with Social Services, Mencap and Croydon Volunteer Action to bring real work experience and training to local people, including those with learning or physical difficulties.
This training and experience helps them gain skills and confidence so that they can get into full-time employment and feel that they are contributing to society. Many of our full-time staff started off working for us as volunteers or work placements.
