CEO Opens fridge door!
Jon Rouse, the CEO of Croydon Council, paid a visit to Croydon ARC, the local Furniture and Appliance Charity, on Thursday 3rd April.
Mr Rouse and many other representatives from local councils and community organizations were shown round Arc’s workshops and showroom by Ray Barwick, the General Manager.
The visit was to commemorate the third anniversary of the very first refurbished washing machine produced by ARC.“I am so proud that such an excellent facility as this is located in Croydon”, said Mr Rouse. “It really does benefit the community in down to earth and practical ways.”
”We are honoured by My Rouse’s interest in Arc’s work.” said Ray Barwick. ”We hope that many more charities and individuals can be helped by us as a result of this visit.”
There was a one-day sale to mark the event, and sales broke all records. “We are most grateful to the many other officials who managed to attend the event and add to its success”
During the visit Jon opened the door of Arc’s display fridge to reveal a commemorative plaque inside.
About us
ARC is a charity that was set up to help low income families by providing quality low cost furniture and domestic appliances, providing a training facility for unemployed people and reducing waste and landfill.
While we enjoy generous support from Croydon Council and Citybridge Trust, we earn most of our income from the transport services that we provide to industry and local authorities.
Our aim is to be financially self sufficient, and to use our earned income for the benefit of society and the environment we all share.
How would you like a virtually new Whirlpool machine for less than a half of the shop price?
